Tomb of King Edward III, Westminster Abbey, London, 1945-1980. Artist: Eric de Mar?
Tomb of King Edward III, Westminster Abbey, London, 1945-1980. Photograph taken 1945-1980 of the altar-tomb of Edward III (died 1377), in the Chapel of St Edward the Confessor behind the high altar of Westminster Abbey. It has six niches on each side holding figures of each of his 12 children; this detail represents Edward the Black Prince, one of the mourners, who actually died before his father.
