Severn Bridge, near Bristol, 1995. The bridge viewed from the Welsh side of the Severn Estuary. Now referred to as the old Severn Bridge. The first Severn crossing was constructed between 1961 and 1966 by Freeman Fox and Partners and designed by Sir Percy Thomas. The bridge spans 5754ft from shore to shore, and was the longest suspension bridge in England when constructed.
