Assembling a bubble chamber at the Edgar Allen Steel Co, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, 1964. The bubble chamber was invented in 1952 by Donald A Glaser and he was subsequently awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1960. The chambers were used for particle physics experiments where the resulting photographic results were used for analysis.
