A malting drum prior to intallation in a brewery in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, May 1966. Malting drums were used in beer production with germination of the barley took place as the drum revolved. Warm air was blown through the drum to help the germinating conditions. The drum was manufactured by the Edgar Allen Steel Co in Sheffield.
