Teeming (pouring) molten steel, Park Gate Iron & Steel Co, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, April 1955. Molten being teemed into ingots. The company had been involved in the production of steel on the site since 1823 and produced steel for a wide variety of uses, including the mining industry and armour plate for the shipping industry. The company also produced the steel for Brunel's ship, the 'Great Eastern'. The picture was taken prior to the company being bought by the Tube investments Co in 1956.
