Urban regeneration in Mexborough, South Yorkshire, 1966. Artist: Michael Walters
Urban regeneration in Mexborough, South Yorkshire, 1966. The wholesale warehouse of greengrocer Fred Ward was photographed in 1966 prior to being demolished as part of the new road bypass project in the South Yorkshire town of Mexborough. The premises on Market Street were replaced with a new set of public conveniences which were, unfortunately and inconveniently, locked by Doncaster Council in the late 1990s and remain so today.
