Ruston-Bucyrus 110-RB face shovel loading a Euclid dumper, Steetley quarry, Nottinghamshire, 1967. Euclid trucks originated in the USA and were the first manufacturer to produce dumper trucks from an original design (not a conversion) and were bought by General Motors (GM) in 1968. The company went through several acquisitions until Volvo acquired ownership and formed a joint venture with Hitachi, who later bought 100% of the company and now manufacture under the Hitachi name.
