The coronation of Emperor Alexander II (1818-1881) and Empress Maria Alexandrovna (1824-1880) took place on 7 September 1856 at the Dormition Cathedral in the Moscow Kremlin. Born Princess Charlotte of Prussia, Alexandra Feodorovna (1798-1860) was the widow of Tsar Nicholas I and the mother of Alexander II. Found in the collection of the State Museum of History, Moscow.
