Thunderbird Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, 1956. Vintage postcard showing the exterior of the entrance to the Thunderbird Hotel. A large colourful thunderbird sits atop a an aqua-blue tower. A brick port cochere encloses the entrance and parked cars line the drive. The Thunderbird resort was the fourth hotel and casino to be built on the Las Vegas Strip. It was open from 1948 until 1992. The Turnberry Place complex occupies the site today.
