Reconstruction of the gunroom, Pendennis Castle, Cornwall, 1997. Artist: N Corrie
Reconstruction of the gunroom, Pendennis Castle, Cornwall, 1997. Here the gunroom is reconstructed as it might have appeared in the Tudor period. Pendennis Castle was begun in 1540 as part of Henry VIII's defence of the south coast. The original castle consisted of the keep which provided a series of gun platforms to protect Falmouth harbour.
