Soldiers and nurses at Great Dixter, East Sussex, 1918. The family home of the author and photographer Nathaniel Lloyd, was used as a military hospital during the First World War. In 1910-12 Sir Edwin Lutyens altered the house and incorporated a 15th century timber-framed house transported from Benenden, Kent. This view shows convalescent soldiers and nursing staff posed in the garden.
