Valley near Enford, Wiltshire, 1999. Artist: IJ Leonard
Valley near Enford, Wiltshire, 1999. A series of lynchets or terraces can be seen on the far slope of this downland valley near Enford, Wiltshire. These quite large features were created by ploughing and probably date from the middle ages. On the skyline above them is a Bronze Age barrow or burial mound.
