Chinese pagoda and bridge, St James's Park, Westminster, London, 1814. The Chinese bridge and pagoda, erected in the park in commemoration of the 'Glorious Peace of 1814'. The pagoda which was illuminated with gas lights, caught fire on the last day of the festival, and collapsed into the lake, killing two men and some swans.
