'The Member for Scotland', Sir Lewis McIver, Scottish politician, 1896. McIver (1846-1920) was elected to Parliament as MP for Torquay in 1885, but lost the seat the following year. In 1895, standing as a Liberal Unionist, he won the Edinburgh west seat, and represented the constituency until 1909. He was created a baronet in 1896. A print from Vanity Fair, July 23rd 1896.
