'Cronje's Captive Warriors, the Docks, Paardeberg', South Africa, 1900. Soldiers of Piet Cronje's Boer Army after surrendering to Field Marshal Lord Roberts after the Battle of Paardeberg. Cronje and 6000 Boer prisoners of war were taken to the island of St Helena. Other Boer POWs were transported to Ceylon, Bermuda and India.
