Charles Farrell and Janet Gaynor, American actors, 1933. Farrell (1901-1990) was a notable American film actor of the 1920s silent era and into the 1930s and later a television actor. He is probably best recalled for his onscreen romances with Gaynor (1906-1984). For her part, Gaynor was the first winner of the Best Actress Oscar, awarded in 1928 for her performances in 'Sunrise', 'Seventh Heaven' and 'Street Angel' the latter two starring opposite Farrell.
