Ox-drawn covered wagon with lady passenger, late Tang dynasty, China, 9th century. A stoneware model from Xing kiln, Hebei province, of a covered wagon drawn by a yoked oxen attended by a peasant with a lady seated inside. The roof of the wagon, peaked at both ends, is glazed very dark brown with two floral embellishments, as are the wheels and other small details on the ox and figures which are dotted with brown and covered with a greenish white translucent glaze.
