English family travelling to France, 1886.
English family travelling to France, 1886. An English family taking the air on deck crossing the English Channel on a steamer on their way to France for a continental holiday. Two little girls, arm-in-arm with their older brother, clutch their dolls. The wind blows scarves and bonnet ribbons nearly horizontal. On deck are folding stools, luggage on a bench, and a leather hatbox.
