Yue celadon covered box, Five Dynasties-early Northern Song dynasty, China, 10th century.
The top of the cover is decorated with incised lotus leaves and feathery fronds. The base is typical of the period and shows seven silica chip spurs. The box is covered all over with a pale, transparent Yue celadon glaze.
