Kraak dish with birds on bare branches, Ming dynasty, China, c1580-1600. Reverse of a foliated Kraak blue and white dish decorated with single birds on bare branches. The inside has four spotted deer under a large pine tree beneath lingzhi shaped clouds. The ground has rocks with horizontal 'Y'-shaped perforation. The style is Group 5 Kraak, which group dates from c1580-1615, however this piece can be dated within narrower limits to c1580-1600.
