Damascened iron incense burner, Ming dynasty, Xuande period, Tibet, 1426-1435. A rectangular damascened iron incense burner on four bombe feet with tall squared handles inlaid with gold Derge work. The legs have lotus sprays and line borders, the handles are decorated with classic scroll and key-fret. The body has an image of a fox and bird in tree framed top and bottom with false gadroons and on the sides with duo key-fret, the squared overlapping rim with duo key-fret. On the base is a six character kai-shu mark of Xuande and the piece is of the period.
