Nabeshima polychrome dish, Kyoho Era, middle Edo period, Japan, 1716-1736. A Nabeshima polychrome dish with brown rim decorated with white dianthus flowers and blue foliage on a pale blue background. The design is placed off centre. There is reverse decoration in underglaze blue of two floral groups and the usual squared dog's tooth pattern around the relatively high foot.
