Lacquer natsume with original box signed 'Ujo Gota', 1970-1979.
Lacquer natsume with original box signed 'Ujo Gota', 1970-1979. An unsigned circular natsume container decorated on a shiny black lacquer background with grasses in gold with coppery gold sprinkling on the ground. The interior is decorated with gold sprinkling.  The original box for the piece is still present and shows the signature of the artist (Ujo Gota) which is absent on the piece itself - this is a common feature of the time and highlights the importance of retaining the box in order to authenitcate the piece.
