Kraak dish with figure on horseback, Ming dynasty, China, 1560-1580. Small Kraak dish decorated in the centre with a figure on horseback and attendant crossing a bridge in a monumental land and seascape with pagodas. The broad flat rim has a band of egrets in a lotus pond, the cavetto is undecorated. The reverse is decorated with zig-zag flower and peach sprays. This piece belongs to Group 2 style Kraak decoration which dates approximately to 1560-1580.
