Cizhou-type black dish, Yuan dynasty, China, 1279-1368. Large shallow Cizhou dish decorated in the centre with a cash symbol and scrolling peonies cut through a thick black treacly glaze. The base is slightly concave and unglazed to reveal the putty coloured body.
