Green lead glazed wannian jar, Tang dynasty, China, 618-907 AD. Small globular wannian jar with rolled lip and slightly splayed foot. The jar is covered in a mottled and striated bright green lead fluxed glaze which ends short of the foot. The solid base is unglazed and reveals the white slip beneath and the slightly pinkish body typical of the period.
