The Sugar Bowl is one of the annual series of Bowl Games played between the most successful American College Football teams. The game has been played since 1935, making it the joint second oldest of the Bowl Games. It was played at Tulane Stadium until 1974, when it moved indoors to the Louisiana Superdome. The 1940 edition was played between Texas A&M and Tulane universities, with the Texans narrowly defeating the hometown team 14-13.
