The countess of Derwentwater pleading for her husband's life, 1715-1716. James Radclyffe, 3rd Earl of Derwentwater, participated in the Jacobite Rising of 1715. He was captured, tried and executed for high treason on 24th February 1716. His estates were confiscated.
