Cawnpore Well, India, c1925. View of a memorial to an event which took place during the period of British rule. in what is now known as Kanpur. The Memorial Church commemorates a massacre of British civilians at Bibi-Ghar (the House of the Ladies) in 1857. Their bodies were thrown down a nearby well.
