'Coffee Stall - Early Morning', 1872. Artist: H?liodore Joseph Pisan
'Coffee Stall - Early Morning', 1872. Men gather round a coffee stall, chatting and queuing up for coffee. The stall holder can be seen top left filling a mug from the urn. A lone woman stands on the right. An engraving from London: A Pilgrimage. The writer Blanchard Jerrold suggested to Gustave Dor? that they collaborated on a work portraying London life. Dor? created a total of 180 engravings for this work. Many criticised the book for concentrating on the poverty of London. © London Museum/Heritage Images
