Rose Lamartine Yates wearing the suffragette uniform, with her son Paul, at their home, Dorset Hall, Merton, Surrey, c1910. Mrs Yates was the Honorary Organising Secretary and Honorary Treasurer of the Wimbledon Women's Social and Political Union. Paul was born on 19th June 1908, and when he was eight months old his mother was arrested while on a deputation. She was charged with obstruction and sentenced to one month in Holloway Gaol. © London Museum/Heritage Images
