Charging Bull, a guerrilla art bronze sculpture installed unofficially by Arturo Di Monica in 1989, symbolising strength in adversity, with Fearless Girl, 2017, by Kristen Visbal, in Bowling Green in the Financial District, Manhattan, New York, New York, USA. The Fearless Girl sculpture was commissioned by State Street Global Advisers as part of their gender equality drive promoting women in leadership positions, and was installed the night before International Women's Day. The small girl stares defiantly at the charging bull. However, the addition of the Fearless Girl has caused controversy and the Charging Bull sculptor Di Monica has asked for it to be removed.
