Fresco of the Punishment of Ixion, in the Ixion Room, painted after 62 AD in Pompeiian Fourth Style, in the House of the Vettii, one of the largest houses in Pompeii, in the Parco Archeologico di Pompei, or Archaeological Park of Pompeii, Campania, Italy. Ixion is bound to the wheel with Hermes standing in front and Hephaestus behind. Hera is seated on the right, with her messenger Iris. Seated below is either Ixion's mother or Nephele.
