This is a 2 storey military building with lookout, low walls and a thatched roof. The town of La Isabela was founded in 1493 by Christopher Columbus and a fort, houses, church, warehouses, and an arsenal were built, but the settlement was abandoned in 1496 due to hurricane damage.
