Bu Maher Fort of the Pearling, originally built in the 16th century during the Portuguese occupation of Bahrain and rebuilt in 1840 by Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, on the Pearling Path, on Muharraq island, Bahrain. The fort was destroyed in 1868 and partially rebuilt in the 1970s. It serves to protect Muharraq Bay and its trade routes. The fort and the Pearling Path are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
