Marae Te Ana, or Matairea Huiarii, with steps leading up to an area with the tomb of 3 chiefs buried in the 16th century, at the archaeological site at Maeva village, on Huahine-Nui on the island of Huahine, in the Leeward Islands, part of the Society Islands, in French Polynesia. This area includes marae, agricultural terraces and houses, with a settlement of 900 AD and structures from 14th - 17th centuries. Maeva is thought to be an abandoned royal settlement, with many megalithic structures including marae, houses, agricultural structures, stone fish traps and fortification walls.
