Sir Robert Naunton, English politician and writer. Naunton (1563-1635) became Secretary of State in 1618. His strong Protestant views led to him being censured by James I and Naunton resigned in 1623. He was the author of Fragmenta Regalia, or Observations on the late Queen Elizabeth, her Times and Favourites, an account of the reign of Elizabeth I.
