Nazis listening to an address by Bruno Doehring, Bad Harzburg, Germany, 11th October 1931. Doehring (1879-1961) was Court Chaplain in Berlin during World War I. A sermon he delivered six months before the end of the war is widely associated with originating the idea of the 'stab in the back myth' regarding Germant's defeat in the war. He later entered politics as a member of the right-wing German National People's Party. From Deutsche Gedenkhalle: Das Neue Deutschland compiled by General Von Eisenhart Rothe, 1939.
