The Royal Palace of Hampton Court, London, 1730. Hampton Court Palace is a former royal palace in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, London. Started by Cardinal Wolsey in 1514, the Palace passed to King Heny VIII in 1529 when Wolsey fell from favour. It was extensively altered by Henry. The last monarch to use the Palace was George II (1683-1760). From Survey of London, 1730.
