Royal cenotaphs, Ahar, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Udaipur was the capital of the Rajput kingdom of Mewar. It was founded in the 16th century by Maharana Udai Singh (1522-1572). These cenotaphs, or chhatris, commemorate the rulers of Mewar and their families who were cremated at Ahar.
