Wiley Hadreman Post (1898-1935) and Harold Charles Gatty (1903-1957) in front of their aeroplane after successfully flying round the world in under nine days, New York 1931. Post was also the first to fly around the world solo, a feat he achieved in 1933. Gatty served as navigator on the 1931 flight, which set the record for aerial circumnavigation of the world.
