Three Buoys and University of Ulster, Belfast, Northern Ireland, 2010. The University of Ulster was established in 1968. The Three Buoys were a gift to the city from the Commissioners of Irish Lights. They have become a source of amusement to seafarers after Belfast City Council had them repainted in inappropriate colours, with mariners pointing out that at sea, a blue buoy would often be very difficult to see.
