Raymond Charles Moley (1886-1975) was a leading supporter of President Franklin D Roosevelt's New Deal but went on to became its bitter opponent. He broke with Roosevelt in mid-1933 and became a Republican. As a columnist for 'Newsweek' magazine between 1937 and 1938 he was one of the most prominent critics of the New Deal and Liberalism in general.
