The Mummy of Rameses II, Egypt, 1213 BC. Rameses II is regarded as possibly the greatest Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. His reign lasted 66 years, from 1279 until 1213 BC. Rameses' mummy was discovered in a cache of mummies at Deir el-Bahri in 1881. It had been moved there from its original burial site in tomb KV5 in the Valley of the Kings. Today it is on display in the Egyptian Museum Cairo.
