Joseph Banks (1743-1820), English botanist and plant collector, 1802. Banks sailed with Captain James Cook on the 'Endeavour' on his expedition of 1768-1771, bringing back many specimens as well as drawings of the plants encountered on the voyage. He later served as President of the Royal Society for 41 years from 1778.
