Shallow sweet white bowl with egrets in a lotus pond, Ming-Qing dynasty, China, 1640-1670. A shallow bowl with everted rim. The glaze of translucent sweet white colour with characteristic cafe au lait dressed edge. The bowl is decorated internally with lotus and waves in the central medallion. The cavetto is moulded with a water edge scene of egrets in different positions, lotus and waterweeds. The exterior is plain, the body transparent.
