Jade bead with spiralling decoration, Western Zhou dynasty, China, c1100-771 BC. A small, finely carved jade circular tube bead pierced from both ends. The outer surface has spiralling panchi decoration similar to bronzes of the Shang-yin period with monster masks (taotie) featuring prominent eyes and snouts carved.
