Blue and white sleeve vase, China, 1637. Qing dynasty blue and white Rolwagen (sleeve vase) painted in vivid cobalt with a scene of figures in a landscape. Servants are waiting on a couple; the woman is holding up a flowering sprig. There are incised anhua scroll borders around the base and shoulders, and the flared neck has a band of stiff sword-like leaves. There is an inscription on the body that dates the piece to the autumn of 1637.
