Jade sword scabbard fitting with taotie, Western Han dynasty, China, 206 BC-8. A greyish-white jade sword fitting carved with taotie eyes at one end. The small vertical face has a stylised mouth. The top has a central narrow raised band each side of which are C and S patterns like a flattened out foliated body of the monster.
