Jade boy with lotus leaf and flower, Song or Yuan dynasty, China, 11th-13th century.
A jade boy with lotus flower and leaf over his left shoulder held with both hands. The boy's left foot and knee are raised, and his hair is tied in two topknots, the skin at that point black. The robe is tied at the waist with tassels at the back, the robe and features are well carved. The stone has some brown rivering, the petals of the lotus are rather thick.
